A US-based construction and engineering firm that maintains and repairs the US–Mexico border fence in Arizona.

KBR, Inc. is a construction and engineering firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. Formerly a subsidiary of Halliburton named Kellogg Brown & Root, KBR has a long history of building large-scale projects for the U.S. military, including warships and bases, such as the notorious naval base in Guantanamo. KBR has also held contracts worth several hundred million dollars for U.S. government construction projects in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Since 2011, KBR has contracted with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to repair and maintain portions of the U.S.–Mexico border in Arizona, including fences, gates, roads, bridges, lighting and electrical systems, drainage and grate infrastructure, and more. Following an initial four-year contract in 2011, KBR was awarded another contract in 2016 to complete unfinished work.

In 2017, CBP awarded KBR another border construction contract, bringing the company’s total earnings from these projects to $64 million. KBR's contracts for border construction ended in 2023 with a $1.9 million contract to complete unfinished maintenance and repair work.

In addition to providing CBP with border maintenance and repair services, KBR subsidiary KBRwyle previously provided the agency with logistics and engineering support services for its relocatable surveillance tower systems. In 2016, CBP awarded the company a $49.3 million contract to support its then 19 surveillance towers along the U.S.–Mexico border, consisting of "around-the-clock day/night full motion video, ground moving target indicator tracks, and communication relay services to on and offsite Border Patrol agents.”
